1. Information We Collect
Data You Create Stays on Your Device
All inventory data — items, stock levels, purchase orders, budgets, events, and alerts — is stored locally on your device using Apple’s SwiftData framework and, if you have iCloud enabled, synced to your personal iCloud account. This data is never transmitted to our servers.
Camera Access
Inventory Guardian requests access to your device camera solely to scan barcodes. Camera imagery is processed on-device in real time and is never saved, transmitted, or shared.
Purchase and Subscription Data
Subscription and in-app purchase transactions are processed exclusively by Apple through the App Store. We receive only a transaction receipt confirming your entitlement. We do not receive or store your payment card details.
Advertising Data Google AdMob
The free tier of Inventory Guardian displays ads served by Google AdMob. Google may collect device identifiers (such as the Advertising Identifier / IDFA), IP address, and usage data to serve relevant ads in accordance with Google’s Privacy Policy. You can limit ad tracking in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
Crash Reports and Analytics
If you have enabled “Share iPhone Analytics” in iOS Settings, Apple may share anonymized crash reports with us to help improve app stability. We do not use any third-party analytics SDK beyond AdMob.
2. How We Use Information
- To provide and maintain core app functionality
- To verify subscription entitlements
- To display relevant advertisements on the free tier
- To diagnose crashes and improve app performance
We do not use your data for profiling, marketing, or any purpose beyond the operation of the app.
3. Data Sharing and Disclosure
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties except:
- Apple Inc. — for iCloud sync, App Store purchases, and (optionally) analytics
- Google LLC — for ad serving via AdMob (free tier only)
- Legal obligations — if required by applicable law or valid legal process
4. iCloud Sync
When iCloud is enabled on your device, your inventory data syncs across your personal Apple devices via CloudKit. This data is protected by Apple’s end-to-end encryption and governed by Apple’s Privacy Policy. We have no access to data stored in your iCloud account.
5. Data Retention and Deletion
Your data lives on your device and in your iCloud account. You can delete all app data at any time by deleting the app from your device. To remove iCloud data, disable iCloud sync in the app settings before deleting, or manage it via iOS Settings → [Your Name] → iCloud → Manage Storage.
6. Children’s Privacy
Inventory Guardian is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.
7. Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights regarding your personal data, including the right to access, correct, or delete it. Because we do not maintain a server-side database of your inventory data, most data rights are exercised directly through your iOS device settings. For any other requests, contact us at the address below.
8. Security
We implement reasonable technical measures to protect information. Data at rest is protected by iOS device encryption. Data in transit (iCloud sync) is encrypted by Apple. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, however.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
